Drastically reduced sensor hardware for solvable chaos‐based sonar

An acoustic ranging demonstration is presented in a reflective environment using solvable chaos with novel and practical hardware advances. Previously, was optimally detected ideal alignment, random codes an 11 element microphone array for environments free of multipath reflections. In this work, experiments were performed drastically reduced sensor measurements extended to include non-ideal effects such as angle misalignment from line sight (LOS). Importantly, new scheme not only reduces the size power these systems by over 83%, triggering technique allows on targeted bit sequences produces sidelobe levels that are independent oscillator dynamics. Ranging results closed, cavity obtained 10 kHz chaotic reported. Measured typically between −1.80 dB −15.85 dB. The resulting shows successful despite environmental imperfections.
